Our Story
Sam first moved from China to Mexicali, Mexico, where he spent over seven years working in the service industry — gaining experience in bakeries, cafés, and Chinese restaurants. He later relocated to Los Angeles and began working in various Chinese restaurants throughout the San Gabriel Valley.
In 1999, Sam was given the opportunity to take over LV Seafood. Since then, he, his wife Yina, and many of their family members have been the heart behind the restaurant — working as chefs, servers, and everything in between. In the early days, family members would hand-deliver menus, coupons, and business cards to local homes, schools, and businesses to help spread the word.
Now, over 26 years later, Sam, Yina, and their family continue to work and support the restaurant with the same passion and dedication. LV Seafood has since become a beloved staple in the Long Beach and Lakewood communities — proudly serving some families across three generations.
